Groeningemuseum

Ideal for the art lovers of the trip, the Groeningemuseum has over six centuries of Flemish paintings for you to discover. This museum is also located on a beautiful picturesque backdrop, sitting in the lap of Bruges’ much-loved canal side, Dijver. You will set your eyes on many centuries of Belgian art all in one place, with works by Flemish artists such as Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling, and Gerard David, neo-classicism by Joseph Odevaere and Joseph Ducq, Flemish expressionism, and 20th-century modern art by René Magritte, Roger Raveel, Raoul De Keyser.

The Church of Our Lady

With its 122-meter brick architecture, you will not miss it as it dominates the skyline of the city. A great part of history, this church took almost two centuries (13th and 15th) to build. Inside this Gothic church, you will find a collection of treasures such as the twelve apostles sculpture, paintings by Jacques Louis David, Bernard van Orley, Pieter Pourbus, and the rococo pulpit with symbolism from the 18th century. That’s not it, also inside you will see the extraordinary works of Michelangelo with his marble sculpture of the Virgin and Child, named Madonna.

Belfry of Bruges

Along the Church of Our Lady, the 83 mere Belfort from the 13th Century is one of the three iconic towers in the city. In total there are 366 steps, however, in between your journey, you can pop into the treasury where the important documents were kept, along with city stamps, seals, and much more gems from the Middle Ages. On the other floor, you will hear the impressive music from the pitched percussion carillon bells. And last but not least, when you reach the top floor, you will enjoy the breathtaking views and surroundings over Bruges.

Choco-Story

The world’s one and only Fry Museum, Choco-Story is one of many food-themed museums in Bruges. The brings you into a world of chocolate, dating back 4000 years of chocolatey history. You will hear and even taste, tales from chocolate’s position in Mayan, and Aztec beverages to its popularity crave starting in the industrial revolution, and of course to Belgian chocolatiers! The museum will also show you how chocolate is made and you also get to then taste the delicious products for yourself – be rude not to!
